Louisiana State University
Founded as an Agricultural and Mechanical College, Louisiana State is a public research school located in Baton Rogue. Commonly known as “LSU”, the school enrolls over 30,000 active students and has a wide ranging scientific research program as well as an active NCAA Division I athletics program.
With over 20 dedicated colleges, LSU is well known for its program at the Colleges of Agricultural, Engineering and Education, as well as the Ourso College of Business, the Herbert Law School along with professional schools in Medicine and Dentistry. A number of specialized programs also excel at Louisiana State, including program in Design, Mass Communications, Dramatic Arts, Veterinary Medicine and Coastal Environmental Science, which benefits from its geographic proximity to the Gulf.
