Bates College is a four-year independent liberal arts and sciences college that is co-educational. It is located in Lewiston-Auburn, Maine, 35 miles north of Portland. It occupies a 109-acre property on the edge of a Lewiston residential neighborhood with an additional 600-acre property that includes the Bates-Morse Mountain Conservation Area.
