Husson University
Husson University (formerly called Husson College) is a private, post-secondary learning institution located in Bangor, Maine. Founded in 1898 as the Shaw Business School, it wasn’t until after WW-II when the high quality of education that the business school provided finally became well-known and enrollment began to swell.
Today, the university offers Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral degrees in various majors through its distinguished Schools of Business, Education, Health, Law, Pharmacy, Science and Humanities, and Extended Learning – Continuing Education. The latter allows students to complete their degrees at a place and time convenient for them. For this purpose, the university maintains education centers in South Portland, Presque Isle, and just recently, The Boat School in Eastport, Maine, as well as Unobskey College, located in Calais, Maine.
Currently, there are 2,500 students enrolled at Husson University from all over the United States as well as other countries. With a student to faculty ratio of 19 to 1 and the average class size no bigger than 20 students, the university guarantees that each of its 70 fulltime faculty members is able to focus on every student’s individual educational needs.
Cost of attendance at Husson University for academic year 2009-2010 is US$12,690 per year for fulltime undergraduate students taking 15 credit hours per semester. Rate of tuition differs when the chosen field of study is Law, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, or Physical Therapy. In addition to the annual tuition fee, costs for room and board at US$6,994 and the other required fees will be charged. To help defray costs of attendance, the university extends financial aid in the form of grants, loans and scholarships to qualified students.
