Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology was founded in 1908 as a private, two-year technical college for the specific purpose of educating students for technical careers while providing core communication and analytical skills. Due to its focus on technical education, males had traditionally dominated the student body although more and more women are starting to realize that they too can take advantage of the opportunity presented by enrolling in this institution. There are about 534 students presently enrolled in its various programs.
BFIT offers Bachelor of Science in Automotive Technology; Associate Degrees in Industrial and Engineering Technologies as well as Health Care Programs; and Certificate of Proficiency in HVAC, Pharmacy Technology and Practical Electricity. Full-time tuition for Associate Degree Programs and most certificates is $ 13,950.00. The junior and senior year for the Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Technology is about $ 15,100.00 while the Pharmacy Technology Certificate cost $ 9,950.00 Education in BFIT involves more than technology, as support mechanisms and the skills necessary for a solid career foundation are also made available.
Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology is located in Berkeley Street in Boston, Massachusetts which makes it easily accessible to car and public transportation. Students of BFIT are characterized by a strong desire to learn theoretical and technical concepts together with practical industrial applications. The level of high school preparation towards admission in BFIT may vary depending on the intensity of the theoretical study. Home-schooled high school students are welcome to apply but must meet the same admission requirements as any other applicant.
