Bridgewater State College
Bridgewater State College was founded in 1840 by Horace Mann and is considered one of America’s earliest teacher preparation institutions. In the Massachusetts Public Higher Education System, Bridgewater is the largest state college and the system’s fourth largest overall – quite an accomplishment for an institution that started operation in a single room of the Bridgewater Town Hall’s basement.
A wide range of baccalaureate programs are offered by Bridgewater State College through its School of Education and Allied Studies, School of Arts and Sciences as well as School of Business. The college likewise offers graduate programs through the Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Education, Master of Science in Management, Master of Public Administration and Master of Social Work. It maintains its commitment to teacher preparation programs as it offers courses that would prepare educators for post-baccalaureate licensure. Its four schools provide more than 96 undergraduate and graduate programs.
