Emmanuel College
Emmanuel College is a coeducational, residential Catholic college of the liberal arts and sciences. It was founded in 1919 by the Sisters of Notre Dame which was in turn founded by St. Julie Billiart. Together with Francoise Blin de Bourdon, St. Julie sought to help people live lives with freedom and human dignity through education. The first sisters of the congregation that came to America settled in Cincinnati and eventually came to Boston. Their arrival in Boston paved the way for the establishment of Emmanuel College. It became the flagship institution of the congregation for higher learning in North America.
The main campus of the college is located in Fenway, Boston, Massachusetts. However, it also offers its Graduate and Professional Program Courses at various sites in Eastern Massachusetts specifically in Quincy and Woburn. These programs are designed for working professionals and are mostly offered in accelerated formats.
Undergraduate degrees offered by Emmanuel College include Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Graduate offerings are comprised of programs of study leading to Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Education in School Administration, Master of Science in Management, Master of Science in Management Specializing in Research Administration and Master of Science in Human Resource Management. Various certificate programs are also offered.
Clubs and organizations are very much active in academic, sports, community service, campus ministry, leadership, culture, media and the performing arts. Annual tuition is a flat rate of $ 29,200.00 for 12 to 20 credits per semester. Credits in excess of 20 are charged $ 912.50 per credit. Students should also consider the cost of room and board, student health insurance and mandatory fees.
