Grand Valley State University
Grand Valley State University is a public liberal arts university located in Allendale, Michigan. Established in 1960, the university offers students various courses leading to a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in a wide selection of major fields of study. The mission of the university is to develop students in all aspects of their personality and “to contribute to the enrichment of the society through excellent teaching, active scholarship, and public service.”
There are currently 24,408 students enrolled in all the campuses of the university combined. Around 20,850 of this total are undergraduate students and 3,558, graduate students. These students are mentored by 835 faculty members who are all eager to assist the students in any issues regarding their studies. With the average class size no more than 27, it is not difficult for faculty members to provide individualized instruction when the situation calls for it.
Cost of tuition differs between resident and non-resident students. For residents, tuition cost for undergraduate lower division is US$4,315 per semester for full-time and US$375 per credit hour for part-time. For undergraduate upper division students, rate of tuition is US$4,530 per semester for full-time and US$393 per credit hour for part-time.
For non-residents, tuition cost of undergraduate students, lower division is US6,472 per semester for full-time and US$551 per credit hour for part-time. For undergraduate students upper division, rate of tuition is US$6,694 per semester for full-time and US$570 per credit hour for part-time. These rates do not include room and board for students who want to live on campus. To help students pay for their tuition, financial aid is extended to them by the university.
