Hope College
Hope College is a private, residential liberal arts college located in a 91-acre campus in Holland, Michigan. Since 1884, the college has shared campus with Western Theological Seminary and is led by its president and alumnus James E. Bultman.
Founded in 1851 as the Pioneer School by Dutch immigrants, it was not until 1866 when the school received its charter. Historically associated with the Reformed Church in America, the college today retains its Christian ambience.
As a learning institution, Hope College offers over 80 various majors leading to a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. There are currently 3,200 undergraduate students enrolled in Hope College coming from 40 U.S. states and and 30 foreign countries. With a student to faculty ratio of 13 to 1, students are guaranteed time and attention from their 203 fulltime professors.
Cost of tuition for academic year 2009-2010 is US$25,500 for fulltime students and US$910 per credit hour for parttime students. Additional fees for room and board will be charged to students who want to live on campus. Rates for room and board vary according to the room option chosen and the number of meals. There is a choice of 11 single-sex or co-ed residence halls, 15 apartment complexes and buildings and 72 cottages or individual houses for 4 to 13 students.
To help students pay for their cost of attendance, financial aid is extended by Hope College in the form of loans, grants or scholarships to qualified students.
