Bemidji State University
Located in the heart of Northern Minnesota’s lakes and forest region, Bemidji State University is a beautiful lakeside campus recently named as a top-tier Midwest university by U.S. News and World Report. It has approximately 3,700 undergraduate and 400 graduate students. Sixty-five percent of undergraduate classes are under 20 students while those having more than 50 students comprise only four percent. The student/faculty ratio is19:1.
As Bemidji State University shapes potential, worlds are shaped through its mission in increasing students’ international educational opportunities for the purpose of producing graduates that can actively participate and lead in a global society. Degrees offered include associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, undergraduate and graduate certificates. The university’s largest programs are in the fields of technological studies, psychology, criminal justice, education and business administration.
Several unique programs are likewise being offered such as Applied Engineering, Aquatic Biology, Indian Studies and International Business, among others. Some special options in program minors include Fraud Examination, Exercise Science, Computer Forensics and many more. Most majors and pre-professional programs can be customized through an emphasis area, concentration or specialization. More than 400 courses are offered online.
The campus occupies 89 acres of land with additional 240-acre of private forest. University facilities consist of 20 service and academic buildings, 6 residence buildings, an outdoor program center, recreation center and an underground walkway system. Tuition and fees for undergraduate programs cost $ 6,953.00 for 12 to 18 credits. Undergraduates can avail of the resident or reciprocity tuition rates. Most of the students come from Minnesota while only 10% come from 35 other states and 49 different countries.
