Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies is a private, non-profit institution committed to finding ways to treat and prevent alcohol and drug addiction.

Founded in 1949 in a Minnesota farmhouse, Hazelden is now a highly respected addiction treatment center with branches in Chicago, Minnesota, Oregon and New York. The Graduate School of Addiction Studies is located in Center City, Minnesota, its largest campus. Aside from offering several Psychology programs, the graduate school also grants Master of Arts and Certificates in Addiction Counseling, Customized Training for Professional Development and Continuing Education.

The school’s mission is to help people struggling with addiction to transform and improve their lives via the best addiction treatments and recovery services and by providing them with the latest research and information on their particular addiction.

Cost and fees for attending Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies for Master of Arts is US$574 per credit for 2010 and US$603 for 2011 plus Administrative Fee of US$200 and Technology and Student Services Fee of US$50 per semester. For Certificate in Addiction Counseling, tuition and fee cost is US$11.90 per hour for 2010 and US$12.50 for 2011 plus Administrative Fee of US$150 and Technology and Student Services Fee of US$50 per semester.

Students who find the cost of tuition too steep may apply for financial aid which the graduate school is extending in the form of loans and grants.
