Oak Hills Christian College

Oak Hills Christian College is a small, private Christian college located in a lakeside campus near Bemidji, Minnesota. Founded in 1927 as the Oak Hills Christian Training School, the aim of the school then as now was to “further the study of the Bible among the laity, to teach and equip men and women and youth for Christian service as lay teachers of the Bible.” After a series of name changes, the college became eventually known in 1998 as Oak Hills Christian College.

Today, the college remains nondenominational and welcomes students regardless of their religious affiliation. Oak Hills offers certificate courses, associate’s degree in arts, and bachelor’s degrees in arts and science. A Bible college, Oak Hills offers courses in such areas of study as intercultural studies, youth ministry, applied psychology, business administration, pastoral ministry and worship arts. Each program offered by the college includes courses in biblical studies, Christian ministries, and general education.

Cost of attendance for academic year 2009-2010 for fulltime students enrolled in 12 to 18 credits is US$18,320 broken down into tuition of US$13,480 for two semesters and room and board at US$4,840. This cost does not include special fees, books and personal expenses. Students enrolled in only 9 to 11 credits pay a cost of US$5,050 per semester while those enrolled in 6 to 8 credits pay US$3,370 per semester. Those enrolled in 1 to 5 credits only pay US$395 per credit hour. Financial aid in the form of loans, grants and scholarships for qualified students is extended to help students in paying for their cost of attendance at the college.

On-campus housing is available at the college and is required of all freshman students.
