Evangel University is an institution of higher learning founded in 1955 by the Assemblies of God. The campus is located at 1111 N. Glenstone, Springfield, Missouri. Springfield presents a healthy mix of natural lakes and mountains as well as shopping and dining venues. The university occupies more than 80-acres of scenic property housing several academic, residential and recreational facilities.
Evangel’s academic offering consists of more than 100 undergraduate and 8 graduate programs. Its programs are offered through its academic departments: Behavioral Science, Business, Communication, Education, Humanities, Leadership with Lifeworks, Music, Science and Technology, Social Sciences, Theology, and Physical Education/Recreation and Exercise Science. More programs are offered through Online Learning (eUniversity), Professional Studies and Graduate Studies. eUniversity serves as the online educational department of Evangel University while Lifeworks is the department for the leadership minor as well as the academic leadership scholars program.
Undergraduate tuition cost per semester is $ 7,525.00 for 14 to 17 credit hours and $ 7,045.00 for 12 to 13 credit hours. Below 12 credits, students are charged $ 587.00 per credit hour while the cost per credit hours over 17 credits is $ 443.00. General student fee is $ 390.00. Room plans cost $ 1,475.00 for double occupancy or $ 2,212.00 for single occupancy (subject to availability). A 10-meal plan cost $ 1,130.00 per semester.
Students are generally required to live on-campus except those who are in the exception list such as married students, students who are 23 years or older or students enrolled for 9 credit hours or less, among others. Facilities have been built in consideration of student needs thus academic buildings, the student fitness center, meal cafeteria, fine arts center, student union and baseball/softball complexes were prioritized over the administration building.
