Fontbonne University
Fontbonne University is a private, Catholic co-educational Liberal Arts institution whose campus is located in suburban St. Louis, Missouri. Founded in 1923 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, the university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and offers both undergraduate and master’s degree courses through 37 majors, 24 minors and 19 graduate programs.
Fontbonne University also offers graduate students the chance to complete their programs at home via the internet through its online educational program. This insures that all students who want to obtain their degree from Fontbonne but who may not have the time to attend the regular classes may do so simply by going to the virtual campus.
There are currently 2,967 students enrolled at Fontbonne University, 2,084 of which are full-time undergraduate students. These students are assisted in their quest for learning by 347 faculty members of the university who are all committed to helping the students achieve their educational goals. Out of this total number of faculty members, 2/3 hold either a Ph.D. or the highest possible degree in their chosen field. With a student to faculty ratio of 14 to 1, students are confident that their teachers are able to deal with them on a one-on-one basis.
Average cost of attendance for academic year 2009-2010 is US $19,476 per year for full-time undergraduate students and US $521 per credit hour for part-time undergraduate students. For graduate students, tuition cost is US $562 per credit hour. Financial aid is extended to students who may find the cost of tuition too expensive. On-campus room and board is available at 3 residential halls for an additional cost per year of US $7,200.
