Kenrick-Glennon Seminary

Kenrick-Glennon Seminary is a private, non-profit Roman Catholic Seminary which traces its beginnings in the early nineteenth century with the opening of the Saint Mary of the Barrens Seminary in Missouri by the Congregation of the Mission.

Today, the seminary which was named after the Most Reverend Peter Richard Kenrick and His Eminence, John Cardinal Glennon, former Archbishops of Saint Louis, remains the provider of education and formation of seminarians ready for ordination to the priesthood in many Catholic archdioceses.

Kenrick-Glennon Seminary is now located in Shrewsbury, Missouri, St. Louis County where it maintains a graduate and undergraduate division – the Kenrick School of Theology and the Cardinal Glennon College, respectively. A program for male students who have already completed their undergraduate studies but need to complete the required 30 hours of philosophy in order to be accepted in the graduate division is also offered in the Kenrick School of Theology. Students enrolled in the Cardinal Glennon College work for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. Those enrolled in the Kenrick School of Theology earn a Master of Divinity degree and a Master of Arts in Theology degree.
