Maryville University of Saint Louis
Maryville University of Saint Louis is an independent, coeducational, comprehensive university founded in 1872 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart. It is considered one of the oldest private institutions in the region. It occupies a 130-acre campus consisting of wooded areas, rolling hills, walking trails and creeks. It can be found at 650 Maryville University Drive, St. Louis, MO.
More than 50 academic programs are offered by the university including seven master’s and two doctoral programs plus a wide array of continuing education courses. Programs are offered through the university’s College of Arts and Science, School of Business, School of Education and School of Health Professions. The undergraduate programs consist of varied fields of study from Accounting to Writing.
More than 3,500 students have chosen to enroll in Maryville University of Saint Louis for the current academic year. This number includes undergraduate students, graduate students as well as weekend and evening college students. The average class size is 15 while the student/faculty ratio is 12:1. Ninety percent of faculty members hold PH.D. or terminal degrees. The weekend and evening college programs are also offered in two centers maintained by the university – the Southwest County Center and the St. Charles County Center.
Found in the Maryville University campus are four Centers of Excellence which represent its core values. These centers include the Center for Civic Engagement and Democracy, Center for First Year Experience and Advising, Center for Global Education and the Dr. Mary Ellen Finch Center for Teaching and Learning. Two coeducational residence halls and five student apartment buildings provide the students’ on-campus housing requirements.
Full-time tuition rate for daytime courses amounts to $ 10,192.00 per semester. Part-time rate and overload charge for more than 18 credits is $ 612.00 per credit hour. Private music lessons are also charged the same rate per credit hour. A private room and board plan costs $ 9,210.00 for a 9-month continuous stay.
