Granite College
Granite College is a public college that was established in 1972 with the aim of providing alternative modes of degree completion to students whose status in life may be such that they are not able to go to traditional on-campus classes. Nonetheless, the inability of these students to go to traditional classes has not stopped them from wanting to pursue and complete their degree programs. This is where Granite College hopes to help and provide an alternative solution.
At its headquarters in Concord, New Hampshire, Granite College develops programs that will give students statewide access to higher education either via the Internet or at its nine community-based academic centers in Concord, Berlin, Claremont, Conway, Lebanon, Littleton, Manchester, Portsmouth and Rochester.
For its non-traditional students, the college has designed tailor-made programs and courses. It offers degrees in Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Science in such areas of study as criminal justice, self design, business management, early childhood education, and human resources.
Cost of tuition for Granite College is US$250 per credit for in-state residents and US$265 per credit for out-of-state residents. In addition, there is also a universal fee of US$65 per term.
Financial aid is extended to students who may find the cost of tuition too steep. These come in the form of scholarships, loans, grants, and student employment.
Because its efforts are directed towards students who enroll in online courses, the college does not offer on-campus housing facilities.
Currently, there are over 2,680 undergraduate students enrolled at Granite College.
