New England College

New England College (NEC) is a private college located in downtown Henniker, NH amidst a scenic, rural setting. Built in 1946, it now comprises thirty buildings, some of which are traditional New England structures with the rest being more contemporary and up-to-date. NEC offers a strong liberal arts program, with emphasis on experiential learning and academic freedom. Students enrolling at NEC would find that a big part of the training and education that they will receive is geared towards honing their creativity, imagination and inventiveness.

New England College offers undergraduate, graduate and professional courses. Among the twenty-four undergraduate programs, some of the most notable are its social and behavioral departments that offer training on a fieldwork setting, and the science program that allows the students to undergo extensive laboratory and in-site training.

Other undergraduate departments include Economics, Education, Political Science and Women’s Studies. Graduate degrees include Master of Science in Management, Master of Fine Arts in Poetry, and Master of Science in Human Services.

New England College also has online undergraduate and graduate degrees in management, education, criminal justice, healthcare, and public policy.

The programs typically require thirty-six credit hours and can take one to two years to complete. An online library and resource center is also available at the students’ convenience. Athletics is a big part of life at NEC, as the college houses thirteen athletic teams such as field hockey, ice hockey, basketball, baseball, and soccer. Most of these sports activities are conducted within the College’s twenty-six acre athletic fields.

Tuition fees sum up to about $18,678 for one semester; this includes living accommodations as well as a fifteen-meal plan. About 90% of the College’s students benefit from financial aids through the school’s scholarships, loans and through federal financial aids. NEC automatically offers scholarships to qualified students upon their admission to the College.

There are several such scholarships available, such as the Presidential Scholarship, New England Scholarship and the Leadership Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded based on the following factors: a student’s high school GPA, their past extracurricular achievements and the specific New England College course they have chosen. These scholarships are renewed as long as the student meets the required GPA for that specific scholarship. A student may also opt to look into the different grants and work opportunities that the College offers.

Accreditation
