Monmouth University

Monmouth University is a private, coeducational, comprehensive learning institution founded in 1933. Starting out as Monmouth Junior College, it was a two-year institution that offered evening classes to high school graduates who at the time were unable to afford to relocate for college education. It became the Monmouth College in 1956 and achieved university status in 1995 as granted by the New Jersey Commission on Higher Education.
