D’Youville College

D’Youville College is an independent metropolitan institution of higher education located in Buffalo, New York. Named after Saint Merguerite d’Youville, the college honors its Catholic heritage by providing education that emphasizes not only on intellectual growth but on the total development of its students socially, spiritually and professionally. Its vision is to produce graduates that are equipped to deal with the challenges of the times.

To insure that its students get a balanced education, D’Youville provides them with a strong liberal arts core in addition to their chosen professional program. They can choose from undergraduate, master’s, post graduate and doctoral programs as well as advanced certificate programs in health-related professions. They can also take up five-year courses that lead to either a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in education, information technology, nursing, dietetics, physical therapy and occupational therapy.

Currently, D’Youville has over 2,900 students enrolled in its regular, evening, weekend and summer classes with undergraduate enrollment totaling 894. Cost of admission for academic year 2009-2010 at D’Youville College is US$19,800 for full-time undergraduate students and US$545 per credit hour for part-time. Financial aid for students who may find the cost of tuition too steep is provided by the college in the form of loans, grants or student employment.

The college believes that living on campus is the best way for their students to make use of their college years. Thus it makes available to them on-campus residential housing on a fulltime and part-time basis. Part-time housing is based on availability and is recommended for students who may need to stay only a few nights a week.
