Dominican College

Dominican College is a private institution of higher learning located in Orangeburg, Rockland County, New York. Originally founded by the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt, it is now a co-educational college offering four-year undergraduate as well as master’s level degrees to young students who are interested in pursuing a high-standard liberal arts and science education in an atmosphere that is student-oriented and focused on assisting them to overcome challenges that hinder them from achieving their full potential.

Proud of its Catholic tradition, the college is committed to maintaining its value-centered focus. As a liberal arts institution, Dominican College offers degree programs in education, athletic training, social work, business administration and health-related fields of study like nursing and occupational and physical therapy.

The college currently has approximately 1,800 enrolled students and a faculty made up of 71 full-time teachers and 141 part-time instructors. The student to faculty ratio is 13 to 1 and this insures that students are given the assistance and instructions they need to realize their goals.

For academic year 2009-2010, undergraduate tuition cost for full-time students is US$10,210 and US$615 per credit for part-time. Graduate tuition cost is US$670 per credit. Financial aid in the form of merit-scholarships and loans are available for qualified students.

Dominican College has a Residence Center for students that are interested in on-campus housing. Various rooms are available all of which are equipped with cable TV hook-ups and computer ports. Manned by 24-hour front-desk personnel, all residence centers provide each student with a clean, secure and healthy environment that is conducive to learning.
