Iona College was founded in 1940 by the Christian Brothers. Its main campus occupies a 35-hectare property at 715 North Avenue, New Rochelle, New York. It has a satellite campus in Rockland County which opened in August 2003.

There are about 4,300 students enrolled in Iona College’s main campus including undergraduate, graduate and professional studies program students. The student/faculty ratio is 13:1. At least 1,000 students have taken advantage of the on-campus housing facilities featuring five residence halls.

Undergraduate students are offered programs leading to BA, BS, BPS and BBA degrees. While the first three degrees require a total of 120 credits for completion, BBA degrees require 126 credits. There are over 40 majors offered by Iona College from Accounting to Speech/Language Pathology. Programs leading to master’s degrees, certificates and post-master’s certificates are also offered. Part-time and adult students can finish their degrees through the Professional Studies Program. Academic programs are offered through the School of Arts and Science and the Hagan School of Business.

Due to the campus’ proximity to New York City, students are given access to various educational, cultural, career and internship opportunities. It should be noted that recruiters from top companies participate in the college’s annual Internship/Career Expo. Iona College has also undertaken extensive transformation of the campus through a state-of-the-art athletic center, new residence halls, new arts center and the new student union which houses the bookstore, food court and bistro, lounges as well as club and student organization offices.
