The Jewish Theological Seminary of America (JTS), located at 3080 Broadway, New York, New York, is the academic as well as the spiritual center of Conservative Judaism. It was founded in 1886 by two rabbis with the help of lay leaders in Philadelphia and New York. It is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

JTS offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees through its schools and facilities including The Graduate School, The Rabbinical School, The H.L. Miller Cantorial School and College of Jewish Music, the William Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education, Albert A. List College of Jewish Studies, and the Rebecca and Israel Ivy Prozdor High School. Other facilities include five research institutes, a summer school, a supplementary high school, student residence halls and a library. The seminary’s affiliation with the Jewish Museum is especially useful in attaining a scholarly ambience in the campus.

Present enrollment is more than 500 students. Classes are handled by at least 122 faculty members. Student/faculty ratio is 4:1. The composition of the student body is made up of individuals coming from 34 states and 13 foreign countries.

Academic programs of study include Ancient Judaism, Bible and Ancient Semitic Languages, Hebrew Language, Interdepartmental Studies, Jewish Art and Visual Culture, Jewish Education, Jewish History, Jewish Literature, Jewish Music, Jewish Professional Leadership, Jewish Thought, Jewish Women’s Studies, Liturgy, Medieval Jewish Studies, Multidisciplinary Courses, Professional and Pastoral Skills, and Talmud and Rabbinics. Tuition rate ranges from $ 6,000.00 to $ 13,300.00 per semester or $ 750.00 to $ 1,000.00 per credit. Residence halls and off-campus apartments are located close to the main campus.
