Monroe College

Monroe College was established on 1933 primarily to educate students for successful careers in business. Originally the Monroe School of Business, it was operated by a teacher, Mildred King. It went on to open other campuses although its original campus in Boston Road was closed in 1977. At present, Monroe maintains three campuses: the Bronx Campus, the New Rochelle Campus and the St. Lucia Campus.

Monroe College Bronx has been a fixture in the Fordham section since 1967. It offers the advantage of proximity to the major attractions of New York City. It is located at One Monroe College Way, Bronx, New York. The New Rochelle Campus is situated in a suburban community in Westchester County. The campus houses six academic buildings and sixteen residential buildings. Monroe College St. Lucia is especially provided with the advantage of a spectacular view being located in Barnard Hill Castries on the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia. Online learning is offered through the Bronx Campus.

The college offers programs leading to associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees through its schools comprised of the School of Allied Health Professions, School of Business, School of Criminal Justice, School of Hospitality, Management and the Culinary Arts, School of Information Technology, , Liberal Arts/Honors Programs and Continuing Education, King Graduate School and School of General Studies. Prospective students can take advantage of the offered campus tours and information sessions conducted on a walk-in basis. There is no need to provide advance notice for intended visits.

Undergraduate courses including Nursing charge a tuition rate of $ 5,472.00 per semester for up to 18 credits. Tuition per credit costs $ 456.00. Housing facilities for single occupancy costs $ 3,675.00 while a meal plan costs $ 970.00. Students are also charged for admission fee, re-admit fee (when applicable), housing application and fee as well as other additional fees depending on the chosen program.
