Elon University
Elon University is a private institution of higher learning rooted in the historic tradition of the United Church of Christ. Located in Elon, North Carolina, midway between Greensboro and the Triangle, Elon University’s campus has been recognized as one of the most beautiful in the nation with a special emphasis on its concrete efforts towards achieving environmental sustainability. Not surprisingly, it is designated as a botanical garden.
The various educational programs of Elon University are offered through the College of Arts and Sciences, the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, School of Communication, School of Education and School of Law. Distinctive academic experiences are provided by undergraduate research, service learning, internships, study abroad and leadership programs. There are more than 50 undergraduate majors as well as several master’s and doctoral programs offered by the university.
Present enrollment is approximately 6,000 including undergraduate and graduate students. The university has 343 full-time faculty members, 85% of whom hold Ph.D. or the equivalent terminal degrees. The average class size is 22 while the student/faculty ratio is 13:1. Students come from 47 states, the District of Columbia and 49 foreign countries.
Elon University also offers its Fellows Program which provides educational learning opportunities through special courses and mentoring, housing options, paid research assistantships or internships, $ 1,000.00 Study Abroad Grant and scholarships ranging from $ 2,500.00 to $ 10,000.00 for each academic year. The Honors Fellows is open to all students in any major while the Elon College Fellows is for students majoring in arts and humanities, social sciences, and natural and mathematical sciences. The Business, Communications, Teaching and Leadership Fellows are for students in the corresponding majors.
Annual educational cost, inclusive of tuition, fees, room and board is approximately $ 33,700.00
