Greensboro College
Greensboro College is a private and independent four-year college located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Founded in 1838, the college is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. As such, Greensboro provides learning that combines liberal arts skills and knowledge with Judeo-Christian values.
As of 2009, a total of 1,289 students are enrolled at Greensboro, 1,208 of them undergraduates and 85 of them graduate students. Assisting these students in their quest for education are 75 full-time faculty members. With a student to faculty ratio of 14 to 1 and the average class size no more than 11, students are assured that their professors will have time to devote to them when problems regarding their studies arise.
Primarily an undergraduate college with a few graduate programs, Greensboro offers undergraduate degrees in Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Music Education, and Bachelor of Science. There are over 39 undergraduate majors students can choose from for their degree program.
For its graduate programs, Greensboro offers a Master of Arts degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and a Master of Education degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.
In addition, there are special programs available in the college like Allied Health, Athletic Training Education, Criminal Justice and Ethics Across the Curriculum, to name a few.
For academic year 2009-2010, the cost of tuition for full-time undergraduate students is US$32,070. This includes full-year tuition, room and board, and the required fees. Financial Aid in the form of loans and scholarships is extended to qualified students to help defray the cost of tuition
