Bluffton University
Bluffton University was founded in 1899 by the General Conference Mennonite Church and remains affiliated up to the present with Mennonite Church USA. It is located in the Northwest Ohio Village of Bluffton occupying 65 wooded acres of lush land. Bluffton Village is a Swiss-German community founded in 1861. It is a friendly rural community that offers various dining, recreation and entertainment facilities.
The university offers undergraduate, graduate as well as continuing and professional education programs. Its current student population is 1,149 consisting of 767 residential students, 96 international students and 117 students enrolled n graduate programs. The faculty has 64 full-time and 49 part-time members, approximately 2/3 of which have earned the appropriate doctorate or terminal degree. There are at least 50 states and 11 countries represented in the university’s diversified student body.
Students get to choose from among 40 majors and more than 20 minors and program leading to a bachelor’s degree. Bluffton’s core curriculum is a liberal arts education that is designed to form the basis for lifelong learning. Its cross cultural programs offer unlimited opportunities for personal discovery and learning that leads to lasting mission and service.
Total annual educational cost is $ 32,014.00 inclusive of tuition, fee, room, board and technology fee. Tuition is based on 12-17 credit hours per semester. Books and supplies are estimated at $ 1,400.00 per year. There are two plans for payment of bill – the payment in full plan and the ten-month plan. The first option requires students to pay each semester’s bill on or before the first day of class while the second option is divided into 10 equal installments. Alternate arrangements can be made for cases where family income patterns are much different.
