Lake Erie College

Lake Erie College is a private, coeducational, liberal arts institution of higher education located in Painesville, Ohio. Founded in 1856, Lake Erie College’s mission is to “prepare students to meet career and life challenges as educated and responsible citizens of local, national and international communities.”

The college offers Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Fine Arts in a variety of majors and Master’s degrees in Business Administration (MBA) and in Education (MSEd). Currently, there are approximately 1,300 students enrolled at Lake Erie under the able guidance of 45 fulltime faculty members, 76% of whom hold a doctorate or the highest degree possible in their chosen field. With a student to faculty ratio of 14 to 1 and the average class size no more than 14, students are assured that their teachers know them and will always have the time to accommodate their questions or clarifications on any issue pertaining to their studies.

Lake Erie is well-known for its equine studies program which attracts students from all over the world and its international learning opportunities for students. Some of the most popular majors, aside from Equestrian studies, include Biology, Business Administration, Education, and Sports Management.

Cost of tuition for academic year 2009-2010 is US$33,368 for fulltime, undergraduate students and this includes room and board at a rate of US$8,072 per year. MBA students pay a tuition cost of US$570 per credit hour and MSEd students, US$480 per credit hour. Financial aid is extended to students in the form of loans, grants and scholarships.

On-campus housing is available via four residence halls and seven apartment buildings.
