Duquesne University
Duquesne University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is one of the leading Catholic universities in the United States. Established in 1878 by the Order of the Holy Spirit, Duquesne is the only Spiritan university in the world and as such aims to produce graduates that are morally sound, and well-rounded both in intellect and character.
The university has 131 years of experience in providing education to young men and women desirous to obtain high-caliber liberal arts education that is grounded on Catholic ethical values. Through the years, Duquesne has developed 10 schools of study through which students can earn baccalaureate, professional, masters and doctoral degrees. These 10 schools of study include Business, Education, Health Sciences, Law, Leadership and Professional Advancement, Liberal Arts, Music, Natural and Environmental Sciences, Nursing, and Pharmacy. Whatever field of study a student decides on, he or she is certain to receive the same high-caliber education Duquesne is known for.
There are currently 10,363 students enrolled in the university, 5,858 of them pursuing undergraduate courses and 3,804 enrolled in graduate programs. There are 701 students taking up Law. To assist these students in the pursuit of their educational goals, Duquesne has 463 full-time faculty members and 483 part-time instructors. The student to faculty ratio is 15 to 1 which assures students of a more focused method of instruction from their teachers. Out of the total enrolled students, around 3,500 live on campus.
Total cost of tuition for full-time undergraduate students ranges from US$24,385 to US$34,716 depending on the chosen school and program of study. Apart from tuition, cost of admission may also include the University fee, administrative fees and room and board.
