Elizabethtown College

Elizabethtown College was founded in 1899 by the Church of the Brethren as a private, residential, co-educational institution. It has committed itself to education for service based on the belief that the noblest learning is that which is used to benefit others. It promotes learning of the liberal arts and professional studies through traditional on-campus classes combined with research, internships and off-campus study.

Aside form the college’s main campus in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, it has three satellite campuses located in Lancaster, Harrisburg and York. These campuses are all located in the State of Pennsylvania. Off-campus opportunities are provided through the Study Abroad Programs in Europe, Asia and South America and the Short-term Study Programs in Ireland, Prague, Japan, China, New York City and Oxford University. The college’s Honors Program which gives top achievers the chance to take part in enhanced learning opportunities with faculty scholars is sponsored by The Hershey Company.

Elizabethtown College is categorized as a small college but is especially proud of its recent graduates who are Fulbright, Barry Goldwater and Rhodes scholars. Admissions are done on a rolling basis, upon the availability of senior grades. Merit-based scholarships are available and about 90% of the student population receive aid.
Campus facilities are provided additional value through classroom and research spaces equipped with cutting-edge technology. The main campus provides access to Internet and the High Library from all residences and classrooms. 24-hour access to most computer labs is ensured as more than 200 micro-computers are available for student use. Student Services include Academic Advising, Counseling, Disability Services and Learning Services. Campus visits are highly encouraged and offered year round. Open House Programs are usually scheduled on select Saturdays in February, April, July, September and November.
