Franklin and Marshall College

Franklin and Marshall College is a private, co-educational liberal arts school located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1787, the college ranks as the 17th oldest college in the United States and the 25th oldest institution of higher education.

Students enrolled in the college are encouraged to express themselves freely in their search for higher learning. The college believes that the best kind of education is one that is able to blend traditional classroom teachings with real-world experiences. The college aims to produce graduates that are global citizens, ready to confront the challenges that lie ahead in the 21st century society.

The curriculum offered by the college to its widely diverse student population is unified and starts from a basic liberal arts core foundation. From here, the students branch out to their chosen fields of specialization and pursue their Bachelor’s Degrees choosing from a wide-range of available major and minor courses. Every student is trained to reach his full potential and equipped with education that would serve him well in his chosen field of study.

There are currently 2,164 students enrolled at the college coming from diverse backgrounds and pursuing diverse interests. These students are assisted in their educational pursuits by 175 faculty members.

Cost of education for the academic year 2009-2010 for freshman students is US$50, 610 representing tuition, room and board, orientation fee and health service fee. To assist students in paying for their admission, financial aid is extended to qualified students in the form of loans, grants and special payment plans.
