Gannon University

Gannon University is a private, co-educational Catholic university that aims to provide its students with education that will equip them for leadership roles in their careers, society and church. Located in Erie, Pennsylvania, the university was established in 1925 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie. Named after the former Bishop of Erie, John Mark Gannon, who was the spirit behind the development of the college, Gannon became co-educational in 1964 and acquired university status in 1979.

As a university for higher learning, Gannon offers associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in a variety of fields. Its signature programs are its Core of Discovery, which is its liberal arts core curriculum, and its Lifecore, through which students are allowed to challenge their development by interacting with their fellow students in various activities and events. Together, these two programs provide students with a well-rounded college experience.
