Gwynedd Mercy College
Gwynedd Mercy College is a private liberal arts co-educational institution located in Gwynedd Valley, Pennsylvania. Established in 1948 as a junior college by the Sisters of Mercy, it was re-chartered in 1963 and became a four-year liberal arts college.
With a curriculum that is centered on the teachings of Christ and an intensive liberal arts core, the college is able to pursue its mission to provide an atmosphere of learning that combines professional competency with the traditional Mercy belief of service to the community.
The college offers students associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in over 40 programs through its distinct schools of Allied Health Professions, Arts & Sciences, Business, Education and Nursing.
Cost of attendance for academic year 2009-2010 is US$25,230 per year for fulltime undergraduate students of both Allied Health and Nursing, and US$23,730 per year for students of all other programs. For part-time undergraduate students, cost per credit hour is US$600 for both Allied Health and Nursing and US$500 per credit hour for all others. Master of Science students pay tuition per credit hour of US$685 for Nursing, US$590 for Education and US$470 for Education (Fast Track). These costs are for tuition alone and do not include charges for room and board for resident students, health insurance and other required fees.
As a form of assistance to students who are qualified but have inadequate resources to pay for the costs of attendance, financial aid is extended by the college in the form of grants, loans, scholarships and employment. The school also offers on-campus residential living facilities.
