La Roche College
La Roche College is a private, Catholic college located in McCandless, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1963 by the Sisters of Divine Providence, the school now stands quietly on an 80-acre campus still upholding its commitment to its mission to “foster global citizenship and create a community of scholars from the region, the nation and around the world.”
A liberal arts college, La Roche integrates general education with professional learning. It offers a wide-range of undergraduate majors in addition to certificate programs, special programs and Master’s degrees in graduate majors including Master of Science in Health Science (Nurse Anesthesia), Master of Science in Human Resources Management, Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing Administration, and Master of Science in Nursing Education.
There are approximately 1,707 students enrolled at La Roche College and this number includes graduate students, part-time students and full-time undergraduates. Despite the large number of enrollees, the college keeps its classes small to insure a more individualized form of instruction from teachers. The student to faculty ratio of 14 to 1 assures students that their teachers will be available for them should they have any questions or need guidance in any aspect of their studies.
Cost of tuition for academic year 2009-2010 at La Roche is US$10,469 for fulltime undergraduate students and US$525 per credit hour for both part-time students and those who overload or enroll in courses in excess of the required number of credits. Graduate students pay US$575 per credit hour. Apart from tuition cost, students also pay for mandatory fees that vary according to the course a student enrolls in and his academic level.
On-campus housing is offered to students who want to avail of the service.
