Lafayette College
Lafayette College is a private, coeducational liberal arts and engineering college located in Easton, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1826 by the residents of Easton, the school was named in honor of the Marquis de Lafayette who left the comforts of his home to pursue the fight for freedom.
Today, a total of 2,046 students are enrolled at Lafayette College coming from 42 U.S. states and territories and 55 other countries. These students are under the able guidance of 206 fulltime faculty members, 100% of them holding a doctorate or the highest degree possible in their chosen field of specialization. The college has a student to faculty ratio of 10.6 to 1 thus insuring that teachers are able to give time to the educational needs of their students, making themselves accessible whenever there is anything a student needs to ask regarding his or her studies.
Lafayette College offers the Bachelor of Arts degree in 32 fields, Bachelor of Science in nine fields of science and four fields of Engineering. Cost of tuition and fees for academic year 2009-2010 is US$37,500 plus matriculation fee of US$675, activity and technology fee of US$295, room fee of US$7,105 and board fee at US$4,694. An additional US$2,000 may need to be earmarked for books and supplies, travel allowance and personal expenses.
To help defray costs, financial aid is extended in the form of loans, grants and scholarships.
