Lincoln University of Pennsylvania or LU is a historically black university well-known for being the first of its kind to offer academic degrees. Founded in 1854, LU’s main campus is located in Chester County near the town of Oxford with a Center for Graduate Studies situated in Philadelphia.
Today, Lincoln University offers students a core curriculum made up of a comprehensive liberal arts and science-based education with emphasis on general information. This prepares the students for the eventual choice of a specialty later on in his or her academic program.
Academically, LU offers its students both undergraduate as well as graduate degree programs with a wide range of majors to choose from. It is divided into four distinct academic schools; namely, the School of Humanities, School of Natural Sciences & Mathematics, School of Social Sciences & Behavioral Studies, and School of Graduate Studies.
Cost of attendance at Lincoln University for undergraduate students who are Pennsylvania residents is US$17,163 for fulltime and US$348 per credit hour for part-time; while for non-resident undergraduate students, cost of attendance is US$21,907 for fulltime and US$543 for part-time. For graduate students, cost of tuition and fees for Pennsylvania residents is US$9,939 for fulltime and US$485 per credit hour for part-time; while for out-of-state graduate students, its US$21,907 for fulltime and US$834 per credit hour for part-time. Financial aid in the form of loans, grants and scholarships are extended to help students pay for their cost of tuition and fees.
