Lycoming College
Lycoming College is a private, coeducational liberal arts college located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1812, the college is affiliated with the United Methodist Church although it operates on its own. Exclusively an undergraduate institution, Lycoming College provides vast opportunities for its students to grow and learn. With an enrollment of 1,500 undergraduate students coming from 28 U.S. states and 12 foreign countries, the college hires the services of fulltime faculty members to guide fulltime students in their quest for higher education.
Academically, the college offers its students both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in a wide-range of majors covering various fields of study. Some of these major fields of study include Accounting, Actuarial Mathematics, American Studies, Archeology and Culture of the Ancient Near East, Art History, Art (Studio),Astronomy, Biblical Languages, Biology, Business Administration, Chemistry, Communication, Computer Science, Creative Writing, Economics, Education, English, Environmental Science, and many others.
Estimated cost of attendance for academic year 2009-2010 at Lycoming College is US$38,228 broken down into tuition of US$29,344, room rental of US$4,150, fee for board or meals on campus at US$3,984 and required fees at US$750. Other estimated costs include books at US$900, travel at US$900 and personal/miscellaneous fees at an estimated cost of US$1,200. Financial aid in the form of loans, grants and scholarships is extended to help students pay for their cost of attendance.
On-campus housing via residential halls is available in line with the college’s belief that allowing students to live in community with one another is another way to educate them in the ways of the real world. As a residential college, all students are required to live on campus throughout their four years in school.
