Brown University
Brown University is located in Providence, RI. It was established in 1764 and has always welcomed students of all religious faiths. The first female students were admitted to the University in 1891.
Brown University is actually three schools in one. The Undergraduate School has 5,900 students enrolled in it, and the Graduate School has 1,500 enrollees. Brown’s Medical school has 340 future physicians registered there. Faculty members number 679, and the student-to-teacher ratio is 10:1.

Programs at Brown University
Undergraduate students at Brown can work toward a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Sciences Degree. The type of degree that is awarded will depend on what the student chooses to concentrate on. Those people who would like to get both degrees can do so over five years.

Graduate students can choose from 23 Master’s programs and 43 doctoral programs. If you would like to be considered for admission to the Alpert Medical School at Brown, you must have completed courses in Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, and Social or Behavioral Sciences. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required as well.
Admission Requirements
Prospective students can submit the Common Application with the Brown Supplement to be considered. They also need to send in high school transcripts and two recommendations from teachers. SAT results from the Reasoning test and two subject tests of your choice or ACT test results.
The Regular Decision deadline for Brown University is January 1 and decisions are mailed out by early April.
