Bryant College

Founded as the Bryant and Stratton National Business College in 1863, Bryant College was part of a chain of private coeducational commercial colleges in the US. It became a nonprofit educational institution in 1949 and moved from its original location in Providence, Rhode Island to its present campus in 1150 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, Rhode Island. The $ 17.5 million campus occupies 420-acre of land, 220-acre of which was donated by the president of the Tupperware Corporation.

Bryant College has since gained a university status having two colleges – the College of Business and the College of Arts and Sciences. Bryant calls itself a student-centered university that focuses in academic excellence in preparation for the students’ chosen profession. Undergraduate degree programs are in the fields of Actuarial Mathematics, Applied Economics, Applied Psychology, Applied Mathematics, Communications, Business Administration, Global Studies, Environmental Science, History, Literary and Cultural Studies, Liberal Arts, International Business, Politics and Law, Information Technology, and Sociology. Graduate studies include MBA, MPA and MST degrees. Students are likewise given opportunities for executive development programs, study abroad programs, exchange programs and various other programs offered in partnership with other educational institutions.

The student body consists of 3,365 full-time and part-time undergraduate students plus more than 400 full-time and part-time graduate students. Ninety-eight percent of full-time faculty members hold the highest degree in their respective fields. Some of the academic services offered in Bryant College are student assistance in registration and completion of admission requirements, academic advising to facilitate individual course planning and tutoring services. Educational cost is about $31,794.00 for freshmen and sophomores. Full-time juniors and seniors pay $30,189.00 annually.
