Black Hills State University – Rapid City Campus
Black Hills State University- Rapid City is an extension of the main campus found in Spearfish. It abides by the same policies of the main campus although some differences in implementation exist. It is located at 515 West Boulevard, Rapid City, South Dakota.
This extension campus offers bachelor’s degrees in Professional Accountancy, Business Administration-Accounting, Business Administration Management, History, Human Services, Industrial Technology, Political Science, Social Science and Sociology. Associate degrees are for General Studies and Industrial Technology. In addition to its regular and traditional programs, evening and online classes are likewise offered. The Higher Education Center consists of six institutions of higher education including Black Hills University which offers a variety of courses and programs. The center is found at the Rapid City Campus address.
Black Hills State University offers various distance learning options including online courses, correspondence courses, video-conference courses and Electronic University Consortium or distance education available from six South Dakota public universities. Correspondence courses however, may only be taken on a term-based schedule.
Estimated yearly cost for South Dakota Residents covering undergraduate programs is approximately $ 12,814.00 inclusive of tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and meal plan. Non-residents’ educational cost is placed at $ 14,278.00 with the same inclusive items. Tuition per credit hour for residents is $ 207.55 although students over 65 years of age are given 75% reduction in cost. Non-resident students pay from $ 253.30 to $ 407.10 per credit hour. Graduate tuition fee for residents is $ 254.85 per credit hour while non-residents have to pay $ 410.10 per credit hour. Other fees may apply such as the application fee, exam fee for credit per course, lab fee per course and field experience fee per semester, among others.
