Dakota Wesleyan University

Dakota Wesleyan University, founded in 1885, is a private independent university located in Mitchell, South Dakota. Over 700 students are presently studying in the university and majority of them are taking Nursing and Business Administration programs. The student to faculty ratio is 14:1. International students comprise less than 15% of the population. Most international students come from Bahamas, Canada, Mexico, Nepal, Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Dakota Wesleyan University’s programs are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association as well as other state and national institutions. The university offers degree programs for undergraduates and graduates in its three colleges: College of Arts and Humanities, College of Healthcare, Fitness and Sciences, and the College of Leadership and Public Service. Undergraduate students can choose between the Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree programs, while graduate students can study to obtain Master of Arts. There are programs in Business Administration, Education, Athletic Training, Sports Management, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Multimedia, Art, Behavioral Sciences, Communication, English, History, Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Leadership and Public Service, Religion and Philosophy, Special Education, Sport, Exercise and Wellness, Theatre, and Biology, Biochemistry, and Wildlife.

Tuition fee depends on the hours taken, starting from $410 per hour to $9,500 per 12-16 hours. Students can live in halls and apartments provided by the university. The hall charges from $1,150 to $2,250 per semester including meals, while the apartment charges from $1,750 to $3,500 per semester including meal.
