Belmont University

On an historic 75-acre land formerly known as the Belle Monte Estate in Nashville, Tennessee, Belmont University stands as a student-centered Christian community empowering men and women through education. The most visible reminder of its former occupants is the antebellum mansion of one of the state’s wealthiest couples which is now flanked by the various buildings of the university.

Belmont University was originally Belmont College which was founded in 1890. It is the school of choice of more than 5,000 students from every state and 29 countries. It was cited as one of the “Schools to Watch” as well as one of the highest ranked universities in Tennessee. Offering more than 75 areas of study, 12 master’s programs and 3 doctoral degrees, the university paves the way for achievement of professional and personal goals. Belmont’s academic programs are provided by its seven colleges and schools – Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Entertainment and Music Business, Health Sciences, Religion, University College and Visual and Performing Arts.

The student/faculty ratio is 13:1. Fifty percent of classes have 20 students or less. Undergraduate tuition costs about $ 10,000.00 per semester while a student’s fee is about $ 520.00 per semester. Graduate tuition varies depending on the program.

Belmont is committed to be the leader among teaching universities by bringing the best of liberal arts and professional education in a Christian community of learning and service. Residence life in the university seeks to develop rewarding experiences for its students that would contribute to their success, in and out of the classroom. Most of Belmont’s success stories were produced by its world-renowned music and music business programs which is just fitting being located in the heart of the so-called Music City in USA.
