Bryan College

Named after William Jennings Bryan, a statesman and prosecuting attorney of the famed Scopes Evolution Trial, Bryan College occupies a 125-acre hilltop campus in Dayton, Tennessee. It was established in 1930 as a four-year undergraduate college of arts and sciences in memory of William Bryan’s wish for the establishment of a prep school and junior college in one of the scenic hills of Dayton. It is an evangelical Christian community that provides educational programs based on the liberal arts and the integrated understanding of the Bible.

Bryan College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate and master of business administration degrees. It offers about 40 major areas of study through its Division of Christian Studies, Division of Humanities, Division of Natural Science and Division of Social Science. The college also offers its Aspire Program which facilitates the completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in just 14 months or eligibility to enter graduate school upon its completion. Online learning programs are available for dual enrollment and distance learning students.

Total enrollment is about 1,150 including traditional campus students and students of the various graduate, distance learning and degree completion programs. Eighty percent of full-time faculty members hold the highest degree in their respective fields. Student/faculty ratio is 14:1. Annual tuition cost is $ 24,590.00 for on-campus attendance.

Bryan College houses the William Jennings Bryan Center for Law and Public Policy, the Center for Worldview Studies, the Center for Leadership Initiative, the Center for International Development and the Center for Origins Research. These more or less represent the causes deemed worthy by William Jennings Bryan in his lifetime. One unique course offered by Bryan is the Passing the Baton Training Course which essentially seeks to produce culture-shaping leaders in the next generation. It can be conducted as a one day in-service training because of its DVD-based format.
