Emmanuel School of Religion
Emmanuel School of Religion is a graduate seminary that is nationally accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the US and Canada and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It is supported by the Christian Churches and the Churches of Christ. It has been producing preachers, campus ministers, missionaries, professors and administrators since 1965.
The school is located in One Walker Drive, Johnson City, Tennessee, on a knoll that offers a spectacular view of the nearby mountains. Its location is an interesting blend of urban and rural cultures. Occupying a 33-acre campus, Emmanuel School of Religion boasts of excellent facilities including the B.D. Philips Memorial Building, the Fred and Dorothy Thompson Community Center, the Emmanuel Village, the Dana Gohn Prayer Garden, the Delno Brown Walking Trail and the Garden Chapel of the Risen Lord.
Faculty members have earned their doctoral degrees from notable institutions and are competent scholars as well as respected preachers in the Christian Churches Fellowship. The school’s 200 students come from all over the US and various foreign countries. Emmanuel alumni numbering more than 1,400 are serving in at least 35 countries all over the world. Student housing is provided by the Emmanuel Village, a housing complex consisting of two or three bedroom apartments.
Emmanuel School of Religion offers degrees in Master of Arts in Religion, Master of Divinity, Master of Divinity with Academic Area Concentration, Master of Divinity in Christian Care and Counseling, Master of Divinity in Christian Education, Master of Divinity in World Mission, Master of Divinity in Urban Ministry and the Doctor of Ministry. There are at least two online courses available through the Distance Learning Program. Tuition costs $ 325.00 per semester hour, while fee is approximately $ 600.00 for full-time first year students.
