Freed-Henderson University
Freed-Henderson University located in Henderson, Tennessee was founded in 1869 by members of the Churches of Christ. A four-year primarily undergraduate, residential university, FHU accepts enrollees who are of traditional college age who want to pursue higher learning. By offering a curriculum that is based on a strong liberal arts and science foundation, the university is able to prepare its students for a degree in Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of Education, and Education Specialist in a variety of specialized majors. They can pursue their preferred majors through any of the university’s various schools and colleges.
Although its main focus is providing undergraduate studies to its enrollees, FHU also offers a couple of Master’s Degree-level programs that include Master of Arts in New Testament, Master of Ministry, Master of Divinity, Master of Science in Counseling, Master of Business Administration, Master of Education, and Education Specialist.
Today, there are around 2,061 students enrolled at Freed-Hardeman University, some coming from 38 other states and 15 foreign countries. With a student to faculty ratio of 14 to 1, FHU students are assured that they will be provided the individualized attention they need from their mentors to guide them in their pursuit of learning.
The total cost of admission at Freed-Hardeman for academic year 2009-2010 is US$22,088 and this includes tuition, the regular required fees, plus room and board. As a form of assistance and to make sure that enrollees get the most of their educational investment, the university extends financial aid in the form of loans, grants, scholarships and discounts, and student employment.
