Milligan College
Milligan College is a liberal arts college founded in 1866 primarily to educate Christian servant leaders. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor’s and master’s degrees. It is affiliated with the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ and is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, a group of colleges and universities actively integrating academic programs with biblical faith.
More than 25 academic majors and three master’s degree programs are offered by Milligan College. Programs lead to Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Business Administration, Master of Education and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. All full-time students are asked to participate in Spiritual Formation Programming which includes chapel and convocation services, church leadership conferences, community services, cross-cultural mission trips, devotional breakfast and other like activities.
Over 1,000 students from at least 40 states and 10 foreign countries made up the present student body. The average class size is 15, allowing for more personal attention to be given to the students. Seventy percent of faculty members have earned the highest degree in their respective fields.
Milligan College occupies a 180-acre picturesque campus in Northeastern Tennessee near the Tri-Cities region of Johnson City/Kingsport/Bristol, TN/VA. Its mailing address is Milligan College, P.O, Box 500, Milligan College, Tennessee. The college’s origins go back as far as 1866 in an academy founded on the banks of Buffalo Creek in Carter County, Tennessee. Formerly known as the Buffalo Male and Female Institute, it adapted its present name in 1885 in honor of Dr. Robert Milligan, a professor of Biblical Studies in what is now known as the Lexington theological Seminary.
Estimated educational cost per semester is $ 13,755.00 including tuition, board, standard double room rate, student activity fee, technology access fee and health fee. Students enrolled in 1 to 5 hours credit are charged $ 350.00 per credit hour while those enrolled in 6 to 11 hours or over 18 hours are charged $ 590.00 per credit hour. Master’s programs range from $ 350.00 to $ 565.00 per credit hour.
