Angelo State University

Angelo State University (ASU) is a public coed institution located in San Angelo, Texas. The university was founded in 1928 as a college and earned its university status in 1969.

Angelo State University currently has about 6,100 students and 320 teaching faculty. The student to faculty ratio is 19:1.

ASU has a very broad academic offering with nearly 100 majors under 40 undergraduate degree programs, 23 graduate degree programs, one doctorate program and one associates degree program. The most popular programs in ASU are Animal Science and Care, Real Estate and Construction Management, Therapy and Counseling, and Nutrition and Exercise Therapy. There is currently no online programs available in the university.

Admissions in ASU is a selective process although all student at the top 10% of their high school graduating class are automatically admitted. Applicants that do not fall under this category need to have passing grades in ACT or SAT Reasoning Test. Applicants must also show proof of completion of any program with a college preparatory curriculum.

Housing is available on-campus. Students can choose among the 6 residence halls. Those who wish to stay in private rooms should apply for accommodation in the following halls: Centennial Village, Concho Hall and Texan Hall.

The estimated cost per semester for attending ASU is as follows:

• Tuition and fees (based on 15 hours per semester): $2,705
• Room and board (7 day meal plan): $3,611
• Average book cost: $600
