Oblate School of Theology
Oblate School of Theology is a Catholic graduate school for theological studies located in San Antonio, Texas. Run by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, the school was officially founded in 1950 by the State of Texas.
The Oblate School of Theology offers courses in the field of theological studies with the aim of providing further training to young people wanting to take on a life of ministry and service to God. Some of the degree programs offered by the School of Theology include Master of Arts in Theology, Master of Arts in Spirituality, Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry, Master of Divinity, Certificate of Pastoral Studies, the Master of Arts in Theology and Master of Divinity Dual Program, Master of Divinity for Clergy, Bachelor of Arts in Sacred Theology and Doctor of Ministry.
Cost of tuition and fees for academic year 2009-2010 for students of the Oblate School of Theology is US$440 per credit hour. For graduate students, it’s US$460 per credit hour and for doctorate students, US$530 per credit hour. Cost of required fees varies according to the course chosen.
The school also offers a Pre-Theology program for students who are seeking to meet the prerequisites of graduate theological study whether these are pre-requisites set forth by the Oblate School of Theology or other institutions of higher education. This program allows the school to participate in the Church’s mission and ministry through the provision of education in cooperation with various other learning institutions and formation communities.
Students of the school are involved not only in academics but in various services to the community through memberships in clubs and organizations.
