Burlington College

Burlington College is an independent, liberal arts institution which was originally known as the Vermont Institute of Community Involvement. Founded in 1972, its student body was comprised of less mainstream college population during its early years. Single parents with dependent children and returning Vietnam War veterans join other individuals seeking alternative education possibilities. It struggled for recognition as a legitimate member of the community of higher education under the persevering efforts of its founder, Dr. Steward Lacasce. It got its accreditation in 1982.

Located in Burlington, Vermont with the advantage of the panoramic views afforded by Lake Champion, Burlington College is connected to the downtown waterfront community by a pedestrian lane and bike path that stretches along the shores of the lake all the way up to through the islands. Downtown Burlington is filled with many dining and entertainment facilities.

Burlington College offers two-year associate and four-year bachelor’s degrees plus several professional certificate programs. It conducts its various programs to approximately 200 students presently attending the campus. The average class size is 6-10 students while the overall student/faculty ratio is 4:1.

Full-time tuition for 12 to 15 credits costs $ 10,212.00 while the cost per credit is $ 675.00 for over 15 credits. Payment plans are available but are subject to a $ 75.00 administration fee. Financial aid is likewise available to deserving students.
