About Liberty University

Established in 1971 by Pastor Jerry Falwell, Liberty University educates over 14,000 undergraduates and 5,000 graduate students from its urban campus in Lynchburg, Virginia. The private liberal arts school is devoted to providing a Christian environment with a dual focus on academics and faith on campus. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the school also opened an ABA-accredited law school in 2006 with nearly a ninety percent Bar passage rate.

Offering over seventy major degree programs, the school is best known for its programs in Philosophy and Religion, Music Ministry, Education, Business and Nursing, along with over thirty five degrees offered by way of distance learning. The university is considered highly conservative, drawing a wide range of prominent conservative politicians in recent years including George H.W. Bush, Billy Graham and Oliver North.
