Founded in 1933, Mountain State is a private University in Beckley, West Virginia offering education to over 4,000 currently enrolled students. Originating as Beckley junior College in 1933, the school became a full University in 1991.
In addition to its distance learning programs, the school offers four branch campuses in Center Township, Martinsburg, Orlando (West Virginia) and Hickory Center, North Carolina. Offering a wide range of bachelor’s and master’s degrees, the school is best known for its offerings in health care, computing technology and business education at both the undergraduate and graduate level. In addition to its academic offerings, the school has a proud athletic tradition in the NAIA, including several national championships in basketball.
